JUNIOR HEAT DIVISION ONE COACHING APPOINTMENTS 2022/2023

The Junior Heat Committee are pleased to announce the Division One coaching appointments for the 2022/2023 as follows:

Under 12 Girls - Ben Garraway
Under 14 Girls - Rob Poole
Under 16 Girls - Toby Cardew

2 Positions:

- Program Liaison BOYS

- Program Liaison GIRLS

*These positions are best suited to those who may be applying to coach or a parent of a child in the program as they will need to be in attendance at tournaments.

The Program Liaison's will play a pivotal role in delivery of a professional and positive culture program.

Responsibilities

In consultation with the Junior Heat Chairperson and Director of Participation & Development advise new and existing parents of program requirements and expectations of all involved and participating in the Junior Heat Program.
Be the point of contact for any parent concerns or grievances throughout the season.
Referral of unresolvable issues or higher-level concerns or grievances to the Junior Heat Committee for discussion and resolution.
Provide reports each Committee meeting.
Assist with various season events as required.

Essential Skills

Effective communication skills.
Approachable.
Ability to resolve conflict where needed.

Requirements

The Program Liaison is expected to:

Act in the best interest of the members at all times.
Attend all Committee meetings.
Undertake the role in good faith and honesty.
Hold a current volunteer “working with children” check.

The Team Manager Liaison will play a pivotal role in delivery of a professional and positive culture program.

Responsibilities

Ensure Team Managers have all season information required to manage their teams effectively throughout the season.
Distribute season updates and any required ad hoc communications from the Committee and MBA throughout the season.
Distribute and manage the return of team bags and basketballs.
Ensure all managers, coaches and players are dressed in correct apparel at all times.
Provide reports each Committee meeting.
Assist with various season events as required.

Requirements

The Team Manager Liaison is expected to:

Act in the best interest of the members at all times.
Attend all Committee meetings.
Undertake the role in good faith and honesty.
Hold a current volunteer “working with children” check.

The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the committee is empowered to manage the financial affairs of the club, is responsible for protection of the club’s cash, assets and the volunteers who handle them, ensuring the collection of all revenues and payment of all financial obligations.

The treasurer must also ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in the club’s accounts and producing the club’s financial reports for presentation to the committee, as well as complying with financial management obligations of the Mildura Basketball Association.

Responsibilities

Preparation of a club budget and cash flow projection at the start of the year for review and sign off by the committee.
Provide monthly profit and loss reports (provided by MBA) and manage balance sheet to the committee each committee meeting.
Provide a list of payments (provided by MBA) for the previous month to the committee at each committee meeting.
Provide a list of revenues outstanding (provided by MBA) and payments to be made to the committee at each committee meeting.

In consultation with MBA management, implement financial management procedures which protect both the club’s funds and assets and the volunteers who handle them.
Ensure all required paperwork for any purchases is provided to MBA in a timely manner.
Ensure all money due to the club, as advised by MBA, is collected.
Ensure all teams and personnel are registered for tournaments throughout the season.
Produce financial reports as required by the Committee, Mildura Basketball Association and Board.
Assist with various season events as required.

Financial accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.

The Social Media Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivery of a professional and positive culture program.

Responsibilities

Create content as needed for post to the program Facebook page in a timely manner.
Share content as requested by MBA.
Monitor page and post comments to answer any general queries.
Provide content updates as needed to the MBA for the Junior Heat page on the MBA website.
Monitor page and post comments to ensure adherence to the MBA Social Media policy.
Report any inappropriate discussion or comments to the Program Liaison for review and referral to the Committee where necessary.
Provide reports each Committee meeting where necessary.
Assist with various season events as required.

Essential Skills

Ability to create appropriate and informative content.
Ability (within reason) to share short notice content in a timely manner.

Requirements

The Social Media Coordinator is expected to:

Act in the best interest of the members at all times.
Attend all Committee meetings.
Undertake the role in good faith and honesty.
Hold a current volunteer “working with children” check.

The Uniform Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivery of a professional and positive culture program.

Responsibilities

Coordinate sizing, allocation of playing numbers and collate orders for all program athletes.
Manage distribution of uniforms to all athletes.
Coordinate orders for any additional or replacement uniforms throughout the season.
Management of number allocation spreadsheet.
Assist with various season events as required.

Organisation.
Computer skills.

Requirements

The Uniform Coordinator is expected to:

Act in the best interest of the members at all times.
Attend all Committee meetings.
Undertake the role in good faith and honesty.
Hold a current volunteer “working with children” check.

The Sponsorship/Fundraising Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivery of a professional and positive culture program.

Responsibilities

Work with the Director of Participation & Development and Chair to attract and engage sponsors.
Develop a season fundraising schedule for approval through the Committee.
Develop and send season progress updates to sponsors.
Coordinate the seasons approved fundraising schedule.
Manage and record any raised funds for report and hand over to the Treasurer and MBA.
Provide reports each Committee meeting.
Assist with various season events as required.

Requirements

The Fundraising Coordinator is expected to:

Act in the best interest of the members at all times.
Attend all Committee meetings.
Undertake the role in good faith and honesty.
Hold a current volunteer “working with children” check.

Registrations are now open for Under 12 - Under 18 athletes wanting to tryout for the 2024/2025 Junior Heat Season.

Dates:

#1 Sunday 7 July - ALL age groups

#2 Sunday 14 July - ALL age groups

#3 Sunday 21 July - Under 16/Under 18
#3 Sunday 28 July - Under 12/Under 14

*Attendance at all scheduled tryouts is expected. Should you need to request an exemption for extenuating circumstances, please indicate on the registration form.

9:30am - 11:00am U18 Boys, U18 Girls, U14 Boys

11:00am - 12:30pm U12 Girls, U16 Girls, U16 Boys

12:30pm - 2:00pm U12 Boys, U14 Girls

*This is a flat rate fee; refunds will not be given for missed sessions.
