MILDURA TO HOST CHAMPS EVENT IN 2024

Mildura Basketball is excited to be bringing one of the pinnacle events on County Victoria's season calendar, the U14 Junior Country Championships, to the region in 2024.

Months in the making through a consultation and tender process, Mildura Basketball will host the Under 14 tournament on 6th, 7th & 8th April 2024, and deliver the event over several venues including the Mildura Sporting Precinct and the Ausloans Mildura Hothouse.

With a combination of players, coaches, officials, and families, Mildura could see up to 3k visitors into the area for the duration of the event, which is not only fantastic for basketball, but also local businesses.

A welcomed benefit to hosting the event will be one less trip for at least some of our Junior Teams and families, who have travelled a minimum of 3 and anywhere up to 9hrs to participate in fellow Association tournaments and Championships, for several decades. It also provides our wider basketball community and general community members the opportunity to get down and see Country Victoria’s best U14 basketballers in action.

Mildura Basketball aims to provide opportunities for local budding sports administrators, event managers and alike to get involved and experience the workings of delivering a major sporting event and provide our regions businesses prime big screen advertising opportunities exclusively for the duration of the event.

The team at Mildura Basketball look forward to working with Basketball Victoria, along with Mildura Rural City Council in preparation for what will be a fantastic event for our region.
